Founding Partner / Owner Joanne has been in private higher education and consulting for more than 35 years. During her tenure as Founding Partner / Owner of Performa Higher Education, Joanne has consulted with more than 200 independent colleges and universities. Having served more than 18 years at Elon University, she was part of the institution’s growth and transformation, and held multiple roles including positions at the senior cabinet level. Prior to joining Performa Higher Education she served on the senior cabinet at her alma mater, West Virginia Wesleyan College. Joanne earned a B.A. from West Virginia Wesleyan College, and a M.Ed. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She continued her graduate studies in theology at Duke University Divinity School. Joanne currently serves as Founding Partner and Owner at Performa Higher Education where she helps set strategic direction for the integrated services provided to college and university presidents and their leadership teams. Bill has been in higher education and consulting for more than 14 years. His experience is in the areas of enrollment management and fundraising, having served in seven interim vice presidential roles including three in enrollment management and four in advancement. Prior to joining Performa Higher Education Bill served at West Virginia Wesleyan College in several positions including advancement associate, assistant director of development, and director of alumni relations. He performed various admission functions, fundraising initiatives, public relations, alumni relations, marketing and communication tasks. Bill received a B.S. and M.B.A from West Virginia Wesleyan College. As Chief Operating Officer and Owner at Performa Higher Education, Bill manages the areas of business and finance, technology, marketing and facilities for the firm along with consulting in fundraising. Tim has been in higher education and consulting for more than 28 years. Prior to joining Performa Higher Education he served on the senior cabinet at Houghton College, supervising admission, student financial services and church relations in addition to coordinating student persistence efforts. Tim has also served as a member of Middle States Accreditation Review teams. He has consulted with more than 50 private colleges and universities and was a Senior Fellow at the Coalition of Christian Colleges and Universities. Tim earned a B.A. from Houghton College and a M.B.A. at State University of New York at Buffalo. Carolyn has been in higher education planning, architecture and consulting for more than 23 years. Prior to joining Performa Higher Education, she served with the State University Construction Fund – SUNY. Carolyn earned a B.Arch. from Pratt Institute. Carolyn serves as Vice President and Owner at Performa Higher Education and leads the Campus Design team, with oversight responsibilities for all campus master planning, facility planning, and facility design projects. Allan has been in higher education and consulting for 20 years. Prior to joining Performa Higher Education, Allan served as Vice President for the Kellett School of Adult Education at Lakeland College. While at Lakeland College, Allan managed the onground/online education and enrollment operations for more than 3,250 students and 350 adjunct instructors, as well as helped to develop and then teach an online undergraduate course in management each semester. Under his leadership, the full-time traditional new student enrollment increased by 29%, graduate student enrollment by 155% and adult student net revenue by $4.3 million. During his career in higher education, Allan has also supervised undergraduate enrollment and financial aid, and has worked in the area of student development. Allan earned a B.A. from The University of Iowa; a M.A. from Webster University; and has completed all coursework for his Doctorate from Saint Louis University. Ryan has more than 17 years of experience in higher education and consulting. He joined Performa Higher Education after spending several years as a Marketing Consultant at Carnegie Communications. While at Carnegie, Ryan assisted many private and public institutions by providing customized marketing and communication solutions. Prior to working at Carnegie, Ryan served as Director of Marketing & Communications at West Virginia Wesleyan College. Ryan leads Performa Higher Education’s efforts in market research and branding, and serves as the Chief Marketing Officer. Joretta has been in higher education and consulting for more than 27 years. Prior to joining Performa Higher Education she served on the senior teams at Brevard College and Union College in addition to previous positions as a faculty member at Hope International University. Joretta’s research in the area of student success has resulted in a comprehensive set of services designed to increase retention rates and student success. Joretta earned a B.A. from the University of California at Los Angelas, graduate coursework at California State University at Fullerton, and a Ph.D. from Azusa Pacific University. Dean has been in higher education and consulting for more than 28 years. Prior to joining Performa Higher Education Dean served as Assistant Chancellor for Planning and Budget at the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay. In this position Dean served as the fifth ranking officer of the university and coordinated institutional resource and facilities planning, developed information in support of decision making, developed planning and operating resource calendars and processes and advised the Chancellor and others who were delegated on matters of strategic direction. Dean also taught Human Development at the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay and served as the first campus sustainability coordinator. Dean earned a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. from West Virginia University. Dean serves as Vice President and Owner at Performa Higher Education and leads efforts related to campus master planning, optimizing space use, instructional space planning and atmospherics assessments.
